Why Mayor, why now?
My desire to run for mayor, much like my desire to teach, comes from my belief in the ideas of servant leadership. Members from the current council, community leaders, and residents encouraged me to take this step, and seek this level of leadership - and I plan to answer the call.

Overall, I believe a mayor should be a collaborator. We need a mayor that brings the Council together on key issues, works with local and state officials on regional efforts, and brings the voices, efforts, and desires of businesses, non-profits, and residents to the table. My experiences have given me the skills necessary to meet this task.
How do you feel about Economic Development and Downtown Revitalization?
I believe Downtown Bloomington is a historic and cultural center to our community. I want to strongly invest in not only the small local businesses but also in creating an accessible and inclusive environment. I was proud to cast my vote, along with the unanimous support of the Bloomington City Council, but now we need a leader to see it through to it's completion!

I also believe that as a City we need to actively work with existing businesses throughout the city, as well as assist new businesses, in their efforts to make our local economy vibrant and active.
How do you feel about Infrastructure?
As someone who has experienced flooding in my home, I know firsthand how important it is to take care of our infrastructure. As a community we need to ensure that roads, sewers, and water lines are well maintained.
What will be your top priorities as mayor?
Now, as a candidate for Mayor, I want to unlock the numerous opportunities we have in our city. We can make strides to develop tangible plans to address the crisis of affordable housing, work to update our infrastructure throughout our city, and work with our state and federal partners to assist us in receiving grant dollars to see the visionary projects we want in our community over the finish line. We need a mayor that is a coalition builder, a communicator, and most of all an advocate. I will be that leader for all wards in the city I love.
How do you feel about Affordable Housing?
There is a current affordable housing shortage, especially within Bloomington. I think that this can be tackled through a variety of innovative strategies that Bloomington City Council needs to explore.
