Fantastic day working with Bloomington Pub Club Rotary at Midwest Food Bank. It is always a pleasure to find ways to serve the community

Unveiled in Ward 6—an incredible new mural at Rosie’s honoring Lincoln’s fiery “Lost Speech”, sponsored by the McLean County Museum of History and many others! History, art, and community all in one spot.

Downtown Bloomington is named one of Illinois’ new State-Designated Cultural Districts! Huge credit to our city staff for making it happen — as the downtown alderman, I’m proud to keep pushing for a vibrant, creative, and welcoming city center.

Had a great time at Nomad Theater—right here in Ward 6 at Vrooman Mansion. So proud of my best friend and campaign manager Sarah Hall (pictured on the left in the pink dress) for her performance. The arts bring us together and build a stronger community.
Started the morning off at the groundbreaking of a Habitat for Humanity home, something much needed in our fight for affordable housing

At the ribbon cutting and opening for O’Neil Aquatics Center. This project is a testament to continued efforts of revitalization of the west side.
Support the United Way of McLean County in the work to expand the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to more areas in the state of Illinois. Governor JB Pritzker, Senator Dave Koehler, and State Representative Sharon Chung announced and celebrate this achievement in Ward 6 at Bloomington Public Library. Cody is joined by fellow councilpeople Jeanna Kearns, Donna Boelen, Tom Crumpler, and District 8 McLean County Board Member Eric Hansen. Along with library staff.

Helping out during Earth Day weekend with a neighborhood cleanup in Dimmitts Grove with the Bloomington Revivalists: Strong Towns and a tree planting with the Ecology Action Center.
Participating in the Memorial Day parade with fellow city council members.

I had the surreal honor of submitting and reading a proclamation naming June as Pride Month in City of Bloomington, Illinois- as an openly LGBTQIA+ member of the Bloomington City Council.
While “just” a proclamation to some, it means a great deal to me, and many, to see OUR city recognize the dignity, history, joy, and continued work and struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Growing up, I never imagined someone like me would be in a position like this. But that’s the power of representation—it changes what feels possible.
To every LGBTQIA+ person in Bloomington: You belong. You are loved. And you matter here.
